sea life, dinosaurs, and pizza

The Cress family + Shane's mom went to Chicago for the weekend. We had a lot of fun. On Saturday we went to Shedd's Aquarium. It was AMAZING!!! We will be going back again...plus it had the added bonus of being free for teachers and children under 3. We saw lots of fish, sharks, turtles, starfish, crabs, and lots lots more.

These stingrays were my favorite. Their underbellies were so white and smooth. You could see their gills open and close as they were swimming. So graceful!

Cy's favorite thing however was not the gigantic turtles, or the colorful fish, or the crabs with legs the size of your head. No, his favorite thing was pushing buttons on all the videos and games.

After Shedd Aquarium, we went next door to the Field Museum. We saw lots of taxedermy and of course DINOSAURS! By the time we got to the museum, the boys were out.

We walked around and saw some mummies and such. When they woke up they were all about the dinosaurs. Really Cy loved it.

This is the largest and most complete and well preserved T-Rex in the world.

This moose looks real doesn't he? Nope, he's stuffed. It was amazing how real some of the taxedermy looked.

Of course no trip to Chicago is complete without Chicago style pizza and a trip to IKEA. I give the trip 4 1/2 out of five stars. The only thing that could have made it better was one more day....and perhaps less wind.
