Are you interested in affordable organics?

The certified organic label is very expensive for farmers to keep, so many are turning to selling their products locally where they can sell their crops or meat to their community. This way they don't even have to worry about selling to organic food stores. In reality, this is what that means... Go to a farmer's market and the organic farmers will usually advertise that their crops have been orgnically grown (not certified organic) or that their crops have been grown naturally without the use of pesticides or herbicides. Disclaimer: Not all food at farmer's market is organic. So you have to look for THE stand amongst all the conventional stands. Check out this PDF File and this PDF File for farmers, farmer's market, and CSA farms near you (if you live in Central IL). So help farmers be good stewards of this beautiful land God gave us and buy some sustainable crops (I'll explain later what sustainable means...not all organics are sustainable and not all sustainable crops are organic...that will give you something to look forward to in my future posts:). Until then this is a great book if you are interested.
P.S. One last chance to meet Jon & Emma (Organic farmers near Litchfield) at Jubelt's this Saturday. Jubelts is having a fall festival outside including outdoor grilling and even farm stands.
